O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I have always had a burning desire to do great things for Thee. But what are these “great things”? Do I simply mean great in the eyes of the world? Do I merely desire to be seen and praised by men? What do the most tremendous of works here on earth add to Thy glory, Who art infinite power itself? Nothing I can do will impress Thee or add to Thee.
Let my only “great work”, then, be to love Thee. Grant that I may have a great love for Thee. I know that that dost value this my heart, and thus I give it to Thee unreservedly. In return, please make me to perform the greatest of all works – the work of loving Thee.
Sweet Heart of my Jesus, grant that I may ever love Thee more.
