O Mary, I have nothing of any value to offer to thy Son. I know that thy sacrifice was perfectly pleasing to Him, however, and so I humbly ask of thee to permit me to share in it. Grant that thy sacrifice may become our sacrifice so that together we may please thy Divine Son. I do not know why thou wouldst permit me to share in thy sacrifice since I am so unworthy, but my patron saint has taught me to, “request humbly whatever good things I do not have from those who do have them.” O Mary my mother, thou hast a good and holy sacrifice to offer to thy Son Jesus, and I do not. I humbly ask of Thee to share it with me.
