Roger Ailes is apparently on his way out the door at Fox News after multiple allegations of sexual harassment have been brought against him.
What can we learn here as Ailes falls from grace?
A popular Bible verse comes to mind. “For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul?”
How many times this same sad drama has been played out in mankind’s history.
All the worldly gifts our Earth has to offer are as nothing if a man cannot control his passions. One could rule the whole planet and yet, if he does not rule his passions, he is as a slave.
On the contrary, a man who has mastered his passions by making his body subject to his will is truly a master. No matter how lowly his position may be in life, he possesses more power than all the passionate men in the world combined.
To control one’s passions is to be human, and to be human means that we are acting in the image and likeness of God Himself.
To be enslaved to one’s passions is to be animal.
Which one are we?
