‘Come’ & ‘Speak’

“O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I offer Thee my heart. It is not much of an offering, but even if it is only the widow’s mite, I still offer it to Thee with all of the powers of my soul. Thou didst create this heart, and it belongs wholly to Thee – I wish to return it to Thee. I apologize for its poor condition and accept full responsibility for the damage that has been done to Thy property. Please take my heart and cleanse it in Thy most Precious Blood. Please take my heart and set it on fire with that same love which enkindles the Burning Furnace of Charity. Please make me a saint for Thee.

“I know that there is much in my heart which is displeasing to Thee. Please make those things known to me and give me the means to overcome them and root them out. Please make it known to me what it is that Thou wouldst have me do. Do not permit me to stand about idle all the day, but hire me this hour to labor in Thy vineyard. I wish to bear the burden of the day’s heat out of love for Thee. The worst and most cruel punishment I could receive is to be overlooked by Thee. ‘Come, O Lord, and tarry not.’ ‘Speak, O Lord, for Thy servant heareth.”
