O Sacred Heart of Jesus, please do not ever leave me without a cross to carry. If everything is done according to my will, I will love my life in this world and will not want to leave it for heaven. If I love my life in this world, I will infallibly lose it. Please help me to always hate my life in this world so that I may keep it unto life eternal, as Thou hast taught me by Thy word in the Gospel.
But there is also another reason that I do not wish to be left without a cross. I have learned from experience that crosses move me to seek Thee, while comfort causes me to be complacent. What a weak and pitiful human nature I have! But alas, I cannot wholly overcome my weakness in this life. So please continue to send me crosses, my good Jesus, so that I will continue to seek Thee. I ask only that Thou grantest me the strength to carry my crosses well in imitation of Thee.

Yes. Good I have always had to remind myself too because the world can pull you away especially in summer when everything is so enjoyable.
But always mindful as Saint Paul has said that eye has not heard … Etc the beauty. So my concept of beautiful is so much dimmer.
I am close to end of my life at 61. Don’t know when or how he takes me but must be joyful as he told us in Deuteronomy and other scriptures but not focus on pain. He said I give you life and abundantly.
I think if we are looking for the cross we are in too much emotion from devil’s. I think we prepare and accept the cross but do it joyful because we love his beautiful world too.
