With all the shootings and violence currently taking place, many good Americans feel powerless as their country descends into chaos.
But perhaps it’s a good thing to feel powerless.
After all, we really are powerless in the sense that we can accomplish nothing without God’s assistance. So how do we obtain His assistance?
Well, He’s told us many times. Prayer and penance. If we ask for anything good in His name, He will give it. Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. God has bound Himself by an everlasting promise to hear our good prayers.
He is our good Father.
Go to God as a child goes to his father. What parent on Earth wouldn’t help their child in need if they came to them begging for help? And how much more perfect is our Heavenly Father than any Earthly father! How can He refuse His poor children? He won’t. He never does. He has promised to help us. All we have to do is ask Him.
